    Public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget, followed by a special town meeting of the electors on highway spending and the tax levy, then a Town Board meeting to adopt the budget.

    2027 budget hearing on November 10

    The Town Board presents the proposed 2027 budget at a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, at the Community Center. Right after the hearing, electors meet to approve 2027 highway expenditures and the tax levy, and the board then meets to adopt the budget. The budget is also available at the Town Offices on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Voting machine public test on October 27

    The voting equipment for the November 3 election will be tested at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, in the clerk's office at the Hazelhurst Community Center, 7020 Hwy 51. Anyone may attend.

    November 3 election notices and in-person absentee voting

    In-person absentee voting for the General Election runs in the clerk's office on October 20, 22, 27 and 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. — bring a photo ID. The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. on October 29. The official election notices list the offices on the ballot and the three statewide constitutional amendment questions.

    Special board meeting September 24 on the community garden and the 2027 budget

    The Town Board meets in special session on Thursday, September 24 at 3:00 p.m. in the Community Building conference room. The board will look at the different community garden plans near the tennis court and start work on the 2027 budget. Public input is on the agenda; the full notice is posted with the meeting record.

    August board meeting moves to Monday, August 10

    The regular Town Board meeting normally falls on the second Tuesday, but August 11 is the Partisan Primary. The August meeting moves to Monday, August 10 at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Center. The September meeting returns to the usual schedule on Tuesday, September 8.

    Early absentee voting is open for the August 11 primary

    In-person absentee voting for the Partisan Primary is now open in the clerk's office at the Community Center during regular hours, Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call (715) 356-5800 to confirm hours, or request a ballot by mail at myvote.wi.gov. The voting machine will be tested in public on August 4 at 10 a.m.

    2026 General Election: what you need to know

    Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 3 at the Hazelhurst Community Center. Bring a photo ID; same-day registration is available. We will publish absentee instructions and sample ballots in late September.

    Spring road weight limits in effect

    Posted weight limits will remain in place until the road foreman lifts them, typically late May. Heavy haulers — gravel, building materials, septic — should call (715) 356-5800 before scheduling deliveries.

    Annual meeting recap

    A full house at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting. Residents approved the budget, raised questions on Wake Boat enforcement and the new boat-launch fee schedule. Final minutes will be posted under Meetings & minutes within ten business days.

    Jamie Kellner appointed Town Treasurer

    The Town Board has appointed Jamie Kellner to fill the Town Treasurer role. Jamie steps in to handle property tax collection and the town's books alongside the clerk. Residents can reach the treasurer through the contact form or at the clerk's office during regular hours.
